I need a picture of a f250 i-beam

Post by 1971ford »

I need a front shot (so i can see the original bends in the beam) of an ibeam off a f250, not f100 or 350.
It could even be on the truck still, as long as it's a pretty straight on shot of the i-beam it doesn't matter.
Thanks :D

Good afternoon Ryan,

While there are many 8,100lb GVW F250 I-beam photos in #50's I-beams/spindles 100% and bolted up!, this one is the most front-on view.

If you're interested in seeing more photos of these I-beams I can dig for some; let me know!

These take the ~1" king-pins, by the way.

here are two sets of 3000 pound i beams. the set with the king bolts in them are 1971 F250 with discs the other set is 1970 F100 with drums. they are exactly the same except for the bump stops.

Thanks a bunch both of you! Those pictures are absolutely perfect. I can see there is no bend whatsoever in the beam until after the radius arm bolt hole. My set of 1 ton beams has a significant bend from factory (raising pivot bushing 2.25"), which means f350's must sit higher, by about 2.25". Good thing i realized this, because i was about to bend the 1 ton beams the same amount i bent the 3/4 ton beams... by about 5" to account for about 5" of "lift" on my race truck. But now i need to bend them about 3"

Thanks guys!

So those are what your beams are supposed to look like!!! You should post a pic of what they look like now. With those extra race-induced bends in them. And don't bend them for as much lift as you did last time!!! You want something closer to zero camber at ride height.

From the mutliple question threads i had on another forum when i was bending the beams in the first place, several people suggested that I put slight negative camber into the beams because it would be beneficial offroad. They seemed to know much more than we knew so I listened.
WIth the 1 ton set i plan on getting it pretty close to no camber, but if anything, slight negative camber. I'd rather have slight negative camber than positive.
