King bolts
I guess I will be replacing the king pins on my pickup and plan to use the metal bushings. I know after I press the bushing in they kind of crush and need to be reamed out..Anyone know the size reamer to purchase? I'm also going to buy some other tools such as a bench vise, and bearing/race drivers.Anyhoo anyone know the correct reamer I will need please post..thanks

Re: King bolts
You will want to be sure to use a reamer designed for reaming king pin bushings. The correct reamer will be adjustable and will have a long shaft sticking out beyond the cutting edges which will go through both bushings and will have a centering cone that slides over the shaft and centers in the bushing opposite the one being reamed. Both bushings have to be reamed in alignment or the king pin won't go through both bushings properly.
The reamer I use was made by Evans and has a range from .850 to .900 inch. This was a reamer my dad used back in the early 50s when he ran a garage and did a lot of king pin reaming since most cars and trucks up to that point had king pins.
