aftermarket steering column

Post by jcolville »

Any ideas for a direct bolt in? There use to be some on ebay that said everything was ready for our trucks to just bolt in. They came in chrome and polished aluminum. I cant seem to even google them. I don't want one from a 73-79

thanks, I found them. The ididit one says there are two different ones. how do i tell if I have bendix box or a saginaw? It says they will be a different size depending on what I have.

789.00 for the chrome one...If anyone has some pre-tips for getting the old one out before I start please let me know. I could also use some help finding out what color and what wire does what for hooking up the turn signals etc. I get so lost looking at wiring diagrams.

The wiring diagrams are also a little iffy. I don't doubt that they are correct as far as what is supposed to be there, but when I installed my ididit column, there were some colors of wires that just weren't there. I hooked up the ones that were on the diagram first and process of elimination on the remaining ones.

yes the truck wirign colors in the column can vary compared to the diagrams on the site. it is best to mark what went to what before you remove or unplug the wiring. i also had to match up what was there at one time and guess the rest of them. it wasnt real hard but i had to do it.
