Post by 69rangerf100 »

ok i have the rubber part of the pivot bushing. but the metal part of the bushing is still stuck in there. i have tried heating the metal up to try and manipulate the metal to twist it out. i dont think i am heating it long enough. any suggestions

If you plan to use urethane bushings, leave that shell alone. You have to reuse it.

I went to autozone and got the complete bushing, I then took my chisel and went around the edge on the backside of the I beam and knocked in the edge of the metal just a touch, I then drove it out with my chisel only took a couple of blows, putting them back in is a bit of a chore, but can be done. After reinstalling the I beam the difference was amazing, before I could rock the I beam back and forth, now its nice and snug.

I had to reuse the metal parts when I bought my bushings from Dennis Carpenter
