Rather than fight the compatibility issue of different master cylinder rod lengths with boosters, I bought the booster with the MC installed. Then there was no question about compatibility. I did have to add an adjustable brake pedal rod to connect the pedal to the booster.
where did you buy these please - any part numbers and what was the approx cost? - I've been looking for a disc donor and having no luck - but since my resto will just be a fun weekend runner - I think this will do me.

just get one from the junkyard from a 68-77 truck and it should fit. make sure to get the brackets with it. the parts places dont sell the brackets. but you are for sure to get a good booster and master from t he parts store if you get only the booster and or master from the store.
the complete power brake swap needs
booster
booster brackets
firewall seal
check valve
check valve vacuum hose
the master from your drum brake truck will fit right on the master.
unless yo uhave disc brakes then you need the disc brake master. and if using discs for an upgrade you then need the proportioning valve.
i think the little tee with the small hoses on it woudl be the place to put the booster vacuum on this engine. take that little bolt out and threa d anipple in there and it should give you manifold vaccum it is a 1970 240.
as far as adjustable rod boosters. i think it depends on the truck it was suppose to go to as to which ones got the adjustable rods. i think 70 and up trucks had the adjustable rods. but i am not really sure.

Hey Fordman gotta question before I do my power brake swap... Ok When I got my truck it came with alot of extras. As I look thru the many boxes there are 3 power brake set-ups My question is this. The units have the mounting brackets and look in good condition(with no masters attached), the rod from the master cyl that goes into the booster is missing but I think I have(1)... I have attached a picture... Is this the correct part? It also looks like it is adjustable, if so how sould it be adjusted? any help would be great.. Thanks again!
