What are the fattest or widest tires that will fit on a 1970 truck? 8)

i wouldnt go past 70 or 75 on the front. the rear you could go with 60 or 65. anythign else you would need different wheels with the correct back spacing. however you dont want real wide tires ont he front due to steering issues. it makes the wheels harder to turn and steer.

On my stock '69 f100 2wd: 32x11.50x15 rub on the radius arm when turning. 31x10.50x15 do not rub anywhere. I am currently running 265/70/R16 which turn out to be almost identical to the 31x10.50x15 and they run fine. You could probably run wider tires on the rear if you haven't put in a wider 31 spline axle in. But as for the front you can't go wider without rubbing or running a narrower rim size. This is all with rim size of 15x8 and 16x8. :2cents:

If you do have the 31 spline rear end setup (which is 2 inches wider on each side) the 31's or the 265's are as wide as you can go without rubbing on the outside lip of the fender well.
