4wd bump stop plate
i noticed the 4wd and maybe the f250 have abent plate that comes fromt he side of the frame and bends under the frame that the bump stop bolts through. and then the bolt goes up through the frame. i am not sure i see the purpose of this extra piece of angle iron under there. my dirvers side angle iron rusted off. on my 4wd. and when you look at the passenger side after you tighten up the botl it just mashes the bumpstop to the frame with the angle iron in the middle of it. so do i need to really worry abotu gettign another one from another frame or should i just put soem washer in there. this truck really isnt going t see real highway use or any high speed rough riding 4 wheeling.

Re: 4wd bump stop plate
i figured out what this was for. i saw a 69 F100 that had them on it also. they are to help the rubber bumpstop flex a little more so you have to hit a bump really really hard to make it hit the frame and really cause a boom to the frame from the axle hitting it.
