Difference in Ford Falcon and F100 front end?

Post by domenicbasso »

Could anyone tell me the difference in a 1988 EA Ford Falcon front end with a 250 motor with a C6 transmission compared to a 1967 Ford F100 SWB with the original 300 ci with a 4 speed transmission? My father and myself were going to put all the running gear into the F100 and were wondering what the task ahead was for us. Thanks for the upcoming feedback.

Don't think your going to find much info on a Australian made car on this website.

Hi mate,
For starters the gearbox's arn't c6's they're a 4sp Borg Warner Auto and the engines are a 3.9 Multipoint, the 250's stopped with the XF Falcon...
Maybe have a read of this: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11267056
If you wanna put the whole engine/gearbox in I'd go with an AU Dedicated gas engine coz they don't blow head gaskets left right n centre, plus they don't have all the fancy computer and stuff. I don't know how long a 4sp BW Auto would last in an effie though...
If your going to replace the whole suspension side of things try http://www.thepickupplace.com.au/ for some info (they install EL/XH Falcon front ends on effies)
Im going to be doing the same thing soon, but with a dentside(73-79) F100...
Btw welcome to the forum ;)

Hey mate glad to join the forum....

Thanks for the info..... Apparently the Falcon that we have found was used as a taxi so a C6 transmission and 250ci were put in it.......Currently it is running on gas. I've been told that we will probably just use the engine. So any ideas on where i could find a disc brake conversion kit and what year model F100 front ends would fit in my 1967.

Thanks again..... :)

No worries mate,
You can use a 73-77(I think check here http://www.fordification.com/tech/discbrakes01.htm) model to convert your brakes or you could buy a kit from http://www.hoppers.com.au/

Cheers,
