the tss arm is probably warped a little. so it wotn contact properly to the buttons for the power to work properly. you may have to get a new one. unless you can get it to relax enough to make good contact with them again.

Okay, so now I have a new TSS arm (1st pic), but how do I remove the old one (2nd pic)? The instructions say I need to break the retaining washer and drill out a hole for a screw to replace - that doesn't seem right? Seems Like I should have to replace the whole wiring assembly (4th pic). Also, where can I find replacement plugs like the ones shown below (3rd pic)? I'll need to replace some of the broken ones in the old socket before I put everything back together.

i have neverdone thiswork. but i read that theclip has to be popped off or pried off. the connectors i did replace on my 67 wires because they had been cut off. i got connectors from radio shack. it was a plastic plug with the metal connectors in the package. i had to buy two packages to get enough to do all my cut off wires.

Thanks. I guess I'll pop and pry then. It just doesn't seem right and more likely to damage things. I have the extra switch assembly off of another column that I'll try out first - that's the one that needs the connectors replaced.

wait can you read this? these are the instructions that came with a cam i bought a few years ago. i have never installed it but i did save the instructions. so i have the whole thing ready if i try it myself.

It's too small to read, but I have instructions with my cam too. Does it say to pry or pop off the rivit holding on the cam and that you may have to drill out for a screw to re-attach?
I just got back from Radio Shack and they don't have the plugs for the wires mentioned above and looked at me like I was some crazy person. I don't like that store - usually worthless and overpriced.

the instructions i have say to break the little washer off with soem needle nose pliers. because they give you a new washer to push odnw over the stud. radio shack isnt what it used to be for sure. i had to look around in the package they had hanging on soem pegs to find what i needed. i wish i woul dhave kept the part numbers from the packages i bought. i will see if i can find them on line. i dont think i can i think i tried to find them once before and could do it.

Thank you Thank you! I ordered two sets of each so now I'll be able to re-build 2 sets of plugs and have a back up TSS switch assembly.
I also ordered a pin extractor. If I had the extractor I wouldn't have mangled the pins using needle nose pliers to remove:(
As for the cam replacement; I used the needle nose to remove the old pop rivit, drilled and used a metal screw to re-attach the new cam. Hopefully one of the sets of TSS will make my turn signals work. It's hard to belive that the cam can be the problem with my TSS. I did notice that the connecting pin wires on the old cam were bowed up but that looks like it would only make the connection better when you filp the switch. maybe both wires don't make connection?

For a Left hand turn signal to work do the two pins at the bottom of the cam have to make contact with the coresponding 2 contacts at the bottom of the switch? As opposed to pin at top and bottom of cam.
I have studied the diagrams and pictures above and and if this is true then I might have a mix up with the wires coming out of the TSS assembly (Not the cam). Is that possible?
For a left hand signal, the pins need to contact the Green-white strip (left hand front) and the Green-orange stripe (Left hand rear). What I see is Green-orange paired up with Blue White on the bottom of the TSS.
Please confirm and I'll tak a closer look at both of my switch assemblies - they both can't be messed up:)?

I had a chance to put the switch assembly back together and plugged it in to test before I re-install. I have left and right rear turn signals:) Still can't get the front to work and I susspect that the wires are crossed. Can anyone tell me if my suspicion is correct? I've attached my notes.
Basically I want to know if a left and right signal are created by making contact with the points at the top or opposite ends? My tester is telling me that the signal is leaving the switch on opposite ends, but I think it needs to leave the switch at the top or bottom from the points next to each other.

Thanks Fordman! This helps a bunch. From first glance I'd say things are working correctly (signal flashing on opposite side of the switch) and I can focus on replacing the front bulbs and sockets.
