Tire Replacement Specifications

Post by Bryant »

I have a 1971 Ford F100 Ranger XLT. It is all original and I would like to get some new tires. I want to go back to the look and feel of the original tires and wanted to know if someone knew exactly what tires came on the truck new and where I could find some reproductions.

my tire shop told me 235 75 15. but others on here have said 225 75 15. the original tire size was G78 15 ask your tire shop to translate that to metric for you. they will coem up with one of those 2 figures i posted im sure.

found these G78 15 and they spec them at about 28" which would be between a 215/75(27.6")or 225/75 (28.3") rather than the 235/75 which is about 29" tall
