Are there any similarities or interchangeable pieces between the Mustang II front suspension and the Crown Victoria IFS?...
I just saw an expisode of Trucks in which they installed a "do it yourself" mustang II front crossmember. The crossmember is only $200 and you weld it up yourself. I am wondering if you could install this crossmember and then pull all the rest of the suspension components from a crown victoria in a junk yard somewhere.
I know that the reason everyone is interested in the 03 and up Crown vic IFS was because of the "bolt-in" style front cross member instead of the welded crossmembers of the previous models. Tell me what you guys think...

Re: Front Suspension Questions
I don't think I follow you exactly....
Are you saying that you don't think that a MII crossmember and upper shock mounts would work in conjuction with Crown Vic rack & pinion, upper & lower arms, spindles, tie, rods, etc?

Nothing will interchange, totally different suspensions,I am refering to the average MII rack being narrower than our trucks track width, so it calls for rack extenders to be able to use the MII rack ,I would like to try the crown vic rack being the wide track would be close to the trucks and would eliminate having to use the extenders, some suspension experts say the rack extenders cause bump steer and or other concerns , althoughI have used the extenders from FATMANS without any noticible problems .
