8 lug wheel interchange

Please guys help me with this. I have a 68 F250 2wd with 8 lug rims. It has the old split rims. What years interchange with this truck? I've been told only years 1960 thru 1978 will work. I've also been told that up to 1997 trucks and vans will also work. I work in a antique junkyard and have a few other trucks I can bash for parts. This is my new yard truck and I want to have some spares when I get a flat. This truck was brought in out of a city impound lot and has been off the road since 2002. I've been slowly fixing it over the last 6 weeks. They had duct tape over the rag joint wich was totally blown out,car radiator and a heater control valve that was rusted in half. Fuel pump filter was clogged with sediment and 7 year old gas in the tank. Fixed all that,poured gas down the carb and she fired up. Changed plugs and oil and now it starts right up. Next problem the locked up front drums. I love this truck. I wish I could buy it but we have no paperwork. Wish me luck. Great website

but i will recap what i know also. up to 1997 trucks and vans will fit our trucks. also dodge and some chevy wheels with the large hub centers will also fit.

My 16" wheels are off an '84 F250. Stock hubcaps fit just fine.

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I found a 16.5 Ford rim with tire in a pile at one of our other yards. It bolted right up. This will get me by for now. Finally got the front drums free. Took her on the farm road for about a mile. Next,good battery and heat for the winter.

68-97 (8x6.5 lug pattern) 98-new are (8x170mm)

F250 & F350 up to 97 like everybody else says but the E250 & E350 vans go newer that but I am not sure how far. Maybe this post will jog somebody's memory on the vans.
