Lowering springs?? Where can I find?

Post by dantheman71 »

Ok, so I have found several posts that talk about lowering springs, I even found an article saying the LMC sold them, but I can't find it in their catalogue, I can't find them anywhere!!
I would like someone to tell me exactly where I can buy lowering springs or if they are even available. I know you can cut your coils but I think if there are progressive rate springs available they should give better ride/handling.

Thanks

Nobody else knows where to buy "lowering springs" either? I guess they aren't available.

I havn't been able to find them either, but I did find some interesting info on the stock springs.
Some have said that the two springs (L vs R) are different and others say there the same.
Here's spring dimensions on part #NCP2771937 from the NAPA web site-

Type:One Tangential End; One Pigtail End
I.D.:6"
Wire Diameter:.672" Driver Side/.703" Pass. Side
Load Height:11.5"
# of Coils:9.75 Driver Side/ 9.25 Pass. Side
Design Load:1625 Driver Side /1750 Pass. Side
Spring Rate:357 Driver Side/417 Pass. Side
Free Height:16.06" Driver Side/15.69" Pass. Side

Strange. Heavier wire on the pass side but the spring is shorter. :hmm:

the heavier wire would take up the same as a long spring with a smaller wire. more than likely. blame that on the person who enginenered the springs for ford and for napa.

Awesome, thanks for the help!! 3" drop with I-beams will probably cause some serious negative camber issues, but it is worth a shot!
