Help with Bendix PS Box

Post by 68rookie »

I am pretty new to all of this so please bear with me. I recently purchased a Bendix PS setup from a gentleman here on fordification. I know Saginaw is probably the way to go based on what I've ready when it comes to durability and finding parts. I'm not much a mechanic and the Saginaw looked a little above my head. At any rate maybe someday I will do the Saginaw conversion but for the time being I'm taking the easy route. Upon insection of the parts (pump, bracket, gear box, arm) I was looking at the box and was wondering what I was looking at here in these pics. Whatever it is, is very worn and actually broke in half, it's a soft material whatever it is. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

Thanks Fordman. If I change my mind on this Bendix business, you still have some Saginaw setups??
