removing pulley from power steering pump

Post by krumpelsaurusrex »

*update* It looks as if there is a special power steering pump removal tool that I need. I was able to rent mine from Auto Zone.
Below is a picture I put together that shows what you need to pull the pulley. hope it helps somebody else.

I have been trying to remove the pulley from my power steering pump. 69 f-250, w/360.

The center of the pulley starts with a hex wrench fitting then turns into threads. I have tried using a puller to pull from the pulley and i get nothing but bending of the pulley. I have tried a bolt in the center, where the threads are, and nothing moves.

Any help would be appreciated so I could get this truck moving again.

Thanks!
