9 inch rear end brakes

Post by kf6wxj »

Well since she didnt get a decent bite on the sale I guess its time to do the job that she needs. The back brake on my 67 of the right side got so hot they started smoking. I have no idea why other than something got lodged inside of the drum but either way I was going to change both of them anyway. Now the big question what years and models can I use as a replacement for this truck? Im sure it is bone stock and it is a 9in 5 lug with 3.50 gears. Bill

i think with out looking that the brakes on a 67 are narrower. so the drums have to match the shoes in width. if you go with a different year drums or shoes you need to match them also to the same width.

Much to wide!!! I saw one that was alot closer but it was on a 56 and it only had one "Rib" instead of 2. Im not sure how to describe rib but Im not much of a mechanic. Bill
