Post by marvin2 »

how much drop would I most likely get if I cut about 1 3/4 coils off my springs and have an alignment shop bend the i beams?

Ezernutt...

I found a pic of your truck from an old thread and I really like the stance. I am looking to go a bit lower eventually, but as always, money is an issue. Did you have to adjust your pinion angle when you flipped the rear shackle? Also, how much did you cut off of your front springs and did you have an alignment shop bend your beams to correct the camber? Thanks...

yes, i had to use pinion shims and i cut one full ring out of the front coils. no, i didn't have the beams bent. i have some negative camber, but i don't drive mine enough to worry about what little i have. a big truck shop in your area can cold bend your beams. in my opinion, fords like a little negative camber anyways. just look at any twin i beam truck or van all the way up to 96 and you will see what i mean.

Ezernutt, dumb question of the day, what degree shims did you use and where the heck do you get them from?

i can't even remember now, i think it was 4*. all the big parts houses sell them in aluminium. go to a big 4x4 website and you can probably find them made from steel. the aluminium ones tend to crack over time. i don't drive my truck much so it's not an issue for me.
