Will these wheels work

Post by marvin2 »

I have been pipe dreaming about my truck lately and have come up with a million questions...so sorry for another new thread...

If I were to do the crown vic front swap, I would have to run at least 17" wheels to clear the brakes, correct? I want to just run a set of cragar soft 8's or d windows regardless of the final suspension setup I come up with. I know there are issues with offset and backspacing as the crown vic front track width comes out to be a bit wider than the i-beam track width. Here are the wheels I am looking at...Will these wheels work with the crown vic front end?

They are 17x8 with 4.5" backspace and 0.00mm offset. Thanks guys!

The crown vic suspension used for the IFS swap comes from 2003 and newer vehicles that came from the factory with 16's or optioned 17's to clear the front disc brakes. Ford stopped equipping with them with 15's in 97. Thier lug pattern is 5x4.5 versus our 5x5.5, which doesn't bother me because I am planning on running different (wider) wheels and tires in the rear, so I won't be able to rotate them anyways. I am just concerned about the backspacing and offset issues. Will the wheels I have hyperlinked above fit in the wheelwells?
