King Pin Size Discrepency

Post by EM3 »

I'm in the process of ordering the proper lowering kit from AIM Industries for my '68, 3/4Ton, F250 Camper Special. Had my king pins measured and they are 15/16" . This web site says there are a few options and mine should be .8592" x 6.353". AIM's web site say my options are 7/8" or 1-1/16". So I have 3 king pin sizes and not sure what to order. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You can pay more but you cant buy better.

How did you measure yours...with a micrometer?

I'm not a mathematician by any means, but .8592 is only 1/64"+ smaller than 7/8". Considering that the bushings are made to be too small to allow you to ream them out to the size of the kingpin, it would stand to reason (IMHO) that the 7/8" version is what you'd need.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll order the 7/8 version from AIM. Wish DJM had a 3/4 ton option.
