Washers on the disc brake plate mounting bolts: how many?

Hello!

This weekend I started to install the disc brake mounting plates (the plates that attach to the spindles) and was reminded of a curiosity encountered during tear down.

It seems that my truck had a different number of washers under each bolt head. Some had one and others three. It was almost predictable like they were put together that way on purpose.



Is there anything special I should know about these washers, such as why there are a different number of them under each bolt?

maybe it had issues with hitting the i beam or something thats all i can think of. or maybe it was a union worker not doing his job like he said he would.

Hi Fordman! Okay, thanks for your advice. I'll watch out for I-beam clearance and see if that's what they were up to.
