While shopping for parts for my ('68, 360, 4X2) coil spring/radius arm bushing project, I've not been able to find the upper coil spring retainers. I've found them for '73-'79 trucks and Broncos, but not for my '68. I double checked my truck and they are there (sort of...both are broke) on both sides. Do I buy the '73-'79 retainers, try to make new ones, or just leave them off?

Roll your own. The weight of the truck keeps the springs from falling off.

Derek,
Been a lot of discussion here lately on coil springs not being that much different.
I can't seem to get the search engine working this morning.
If it's the flat stock with the bend in it I thinkin' of, I believe the dent one's would work also.
Bronco Graveyard or DC probably has them in stock.

Yea, it is the flat metal stock that has a bend in it to go around the coil spring. I think NPD has them for $4.95 each. I'm just trying to get all of my parts together before I start working.

Just for the record: The '73-'79 retainers are the same as the bumpside versions.
