Fusor and panel flanging tool
Can anyone explain why Lord Fusor does not recommend using a panel flanging tool.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Actually, that is a Jobbers webstore.kaptnkaos wrote:Here's Lord Fusor's webpage...

If no one here knows, I'll call Lord or catch one of the reps out in the shops.
I suspect its because the panel flanging tool may not create a totally flat flange and if the flange is not flat, the clamping thickness (and thus strength) can't be guaranteed. Almost everything on a unit body car is structural, but on these old trucks, not so much...

re: Fusor and panel flanging tool
I was reading a little about some of this stuff...
Would it work to adhere floor patch panels ???
I'm not a welder and welding is so stinkin' expensive to have someone else do, I am looking for a feasible alternative to patch a couple of holes in my floor boards... Both sides have holes in them...

re: Fusor and panel flanging tool
It would work, stuff is amazing. quite a few new cars use it on structural parts instead of welding. (roof panels in particular)
One side is going to be pretty ugly though.
What I don't get is that they want you to overlay, or use a backing panel, but not a flange?

What happens if something melts this stuff out? Heard of high temps cuasing GM doors that are glued on with that stuff to fall off.

You can weld through it, I would say that if it gets hot enough to melt your panel bond is the least of your worries...rjewkes wrote:What happens if something melts this stuff out? Heard of high temps cuasing GM doors that are glued on with that stuff to fall off.
