Quick question about drop beams..
I've aquired 3" drop beams for my 68, they were ordered for a '76 though.. i do plan on doing a front disc conversion but am I now going to HAVE TO get brake parts from a '76?? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

re: Quick question about drop beams..
Well that sucks that i have to narrow it down now.. my local junk yard parts guy (who specializes in Fords) that I always get stuff from is telling me that it shouldn't matter.. that drop beams or not, they should bolt up through out like '73 to '79.. he's been selling this stuff for 20 years and says he's never heard of only having to use stuff from one specific year, even for drop beams....
he's got all the parts i need but mixed and matched from those years.. says i shouldn't have any problems bolting it up..

re: Quick question about drop beams..
sorry if i was misleading, he's telling you correctly you can use 73-79 parts. my point was that if your buying new parts you have to order a certain year so if you have 76 parts already you may as well just tell the parts man to order for a 76. on the other hand if you are buying used parts 73-79 will infact work. rotors and calipers are very affordable so i'd sugest buying new. bearings are kind of pricey but its not a good part to skimp on if you have it all apart which you will have, you need to use new bearings. whatever year your disc brake spindles come off of is what year king pin set i would order.
if i think of any other info that will be useful to you i'll post it. and ask more ?? if you need to.
