Brake booster with edelbrock valve cover problems?

Just wondering if anyone has run into this problem and if so what did you do about it. On my brothers '70 F100, we got the 390 engine in and did a disc brake swap from a '73 F100. All the brake stuff from the '73 was used and it went on good except the booster. We had my '69 F100 there so we had something to reference to but the problem was that his booster wouldn't fit. With his Edelbrock aluminum heads and adjustable rocker arms, edelbrock told us we had to use their taller valve covers. But with these edelbrock covers they run into the brake booster from the '73-'77 Fords. We ended up slightly denting in the booster so that it would clear the valve cover by about 1 cm. Has anyone else had a problem similar to this?

i had the same problem with mine,i had cobra covers but i switched to the edelbrock finned ones and its a little better,makes adjusting the valves a real pain,especially since i have studs,i have to loosen the booster to get the cover off.....my booster is from a 77,not sure if its the same

Does your booster bolt to the firewall direct, or does it have a standoff bracket like this?

My disc setup I installed on my '69 has the standoff and I got it out of a '74 F100 with 360 or 390. If you don't have it, finding and installing one of these should give you a little more room. It basically moves the booster & master forward about 3 inches and up about 3 inches. Hope this helps.

Ya we are using the booster bracket from the '73. The '70 bracket wasn't even close to fitting. We needed that extra clearance with the longer bracket.

What year and last 6 digits of VIN #

There where numerous booster applications for these trucks.

You know this was a disc brake swap right Mil1ion? I don't have the vin from the donor truck. None of the bumps or dents came with valve covers that were as tall as these Edelbrock valve covers.
