Where to find coil springs for 8100lb GVW F250?

Post by robroy »

Hello,

It looks like plenty of suppliers have coil springs for my 1972 F250, but they all say 6900lb GVW or less. My F250 is rated at 8100lb GVW.

Does anybody know where to get springs for the 8100lb GVW F250?

Thanks!

Just get F-350 front coils.

Have you tried Eaton Detroit Spring?

Hey Robert and Dustin,

Thanks for the replies! It's funny that you'd mention Eaton Springs; just a few minutes before reading this forum thread I read an e-mail from Dennis Carpenter recommending them!

Their site looks fantastic. I mailed them to see if they can make some special springs for my heavy F250.

Their shocks also look pretty interesting!

I just spoke with a guy at Eaton Springs and they can't get them either; all they have are springs for 6,900lb GVW and under.

I heard that they can make a new spring if I want, based upon a sample I send them (one of my old springs), but that will cost $2,500 and take five weeks! Needless to say, I don't want new springs that badly.

Dustin, I'll take your advice next and look for F350 coils.

Thanks guys!

Good morning,

No '72 F350 coils to be found either!

My next hope is that I can swap in coils from another vehicle; I'll start a new thread about that.

Thanks for all the suggestions,
-Robroy
