Can spark plug wires rest on a heater hose?
I have some MSD spark plug wires that are resting right on top of the heater hoses that enter into the cab. Will wires be okay with this kind of heat or do I need to relocate them some how?

Heater hose contains carbon and carbon is a conductor. If the plug wire insulation wears thin voltage will leak to the heater hose.
I would not let your wires rest on the hoses.

mrtleavitt, I will defer to rubiranch greater knowledge of heater hose construction.rubiranch wrote:Heater hose contains carbon
I always thought they were rubber or something like rubber ..

Water inside the hose is also a conductor. I have seen plug wires arc to heater hoses in the dark.rubiranch wrote:Heater hose contains carbon and carbon is a conductor. If the plug wire insulation wears thin voltage will leak to the heater hose.
