Original tire size for highboy?
I don't really understand the older tire sizes to well so...
What were the original tire size for a 1971 Highboy in inches?
Cause I'm thinking about going for closer to original tire size when I get new tires.
Thank You
Chase
I looked in the brochures and it said something like 24.5 inches for size.. I find that kinda small comparing to some factory ford 4X4 brochures.

I think the highboys came with 750x16 with split rims. On my 71 highboy I run LT235/85R16 on tubeless rims from an 80's F250, pretty close to 750x16, alittle wider tread maybe.

they came with 31-34" tires dependant on what GVW/tire combination you ordered from the factory. My 70 had 34X6.50X17's on it for most of it's life and they looked small at stock height.
31" tires look funny on a highboy that isn't sagging real bad. Most run 33's on them. On a stock height highboy I like the 255/85R15 BFG mud terrains. They're 34" tall about 7" of tread and work really good. They also fit perfect on stock 6 and 7" wide ford steel and alloy wheels so no worries about buying wider wheels.
Taller tires will net you better mileage. With 4.10's these trucks scream on the highway.

ohh yeah , the whole screaming on the highway thing and I miss calculated in my last post. So you think I should just stick with my 33 inch tires.

I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

re: Original tire size for highboy?
My Highboy still has original era tires. They are Monarch 7.00 X 16 with split rims. They are very aggressive tread and measure approx 31 inches tall and just less than 7 inches wide. Hope that helps. I think when I am ready, I will use later model rims and 235/75R16 for replacement.
