rear brake hose question

Post by SteveC »

OK on my 67 f250 i need to get a new brake hose but the problem is i cant find one. The one lmc sent me is a complety different thing and way to short.
The hose goes from the line coming back down into what i would call a distrubition block which is held down by the breather bolt for the dana 60 and goes from there to each rear wheel.
Now when we removed this thing the hose and distro block come off as one unit and we could see no way that the hose is removable from the disto block.
LMC swears up and down i got the correct hose and NPD said that they dont list any part like that.
I am currently using the new front hoses with the old wore hose in the rear which i dont like one bit

So where am i going wrong on this??
If needed i can go out and take a picture if that will help. thanks for the help

Steve,

I think that DC has it but the website seems to be off-line right now.

Yes, the hose is one piece, (with the brass "tee" fitting attached).

it looked longer than the original but they didnt have it in stock to compare.
From my understanding the auto store in ogallala has a machine and tools to put new hoses on old fitting.s Dad said they made a lot of his hydrallic line sfor his n600 dump truck. So i may do that route first, second we have a very similar type of hose and distro block off of a different truck that is almost brand new..and third is the new hose.

In short the hoses are available from the major venders.

I was looking for my recepts for the complete brake job I did just this last fall. Can't find em quick enough...
I live in a small town of 16,000 and the four venders each were able to quote me prices. The three hoses needed came from NAPA, the rear one in question with the block attached was about $45 as I recall. The wheel cylinders and shoes came from another vender that I patronize because they are so helpful when I have questions.
