Disk brake spindles

Post by winr »

1976 and 1979 F-150 disk brake spindles.
Surface where outer bearing sits (small bearing.

Vertical measurement I was holding my calipers vertical and the spindle was in a position as it would be on the truck.

On one spindle.
Vertical measurement .866
Horizontal measurement .866
This spindle looks ok.

On the other spindle.
Vertical measurement .861
Horizontal measurement .864
This spindle looks like the bearing race was turning.

Anyone have a spindle worn like this and did you junk it ??

I've seen them worn like that.As long as the surface is smooth I would let it run.

I've put worse back together.
