rear springs for swb

are the rear springs in a lwb 1/2 ton the same strength as the swb 1/2 ton spring i want to put stronger springs in my lowered swb with out raising the height

no response!!!!!! does that mean nobody knows or is the question not understandable? i will try to rephrase the question is the gvw of a lwb 1/2 ton the same as a swb 1/2 ton

i think hte spring stregth depends on the gvw of your truck and or the truck you are getting the parts from. if your truck is a f10 then it is a 5000 pound capcity truck. if you get springs from a lesser weigh truck then your springs will be able to carry less of a load. i would think htat if you put a heavier duty spring under your truck it might rasie it a slight bit. if at all. i dont know that would be trial and error.

where do i find the gvw? my bump is a 68 swb 1/2 ton the parts truck is a dent 76 or 77 lwb i looked on my driver door for a tag not their its a original truck so i know its not been painted over and no sign of being torn off. not looked at the other truck been raining

check the frame for the vin number. the vin should be on the front frame horn just under the inner fender where the battery is. here is ho wto tell what the vin reads out as and the capcity of the truck springs. http://www.fordification.com/data-1968.htm

are the 4x4 springs arched more or do they sit up do to the blocks

my 68 swb has 5000 gvw and the 76 lwb has 4900 gvw so that wont help acording to the specs i need the springs from the 4x4 1/2 ton to get the 5600 gvw what is your thought
