front tire losing air

front tire losing air

recently my front tire has been losing air. I coulnt detect a hole but my tire keeps losing air and deflating to 20 lbs. could the stem be going out on my rim?

How old is it? Check the sidewalls and make sure they aren't dry rotting...

take a little soapy water and put it around your valve stem and on the valve and see if it bubbles,around the bead too see if it leaks your rim could be rusty

ive got a leak in my front left too, cant find a hole :hmm: but it doesnt matter because there both bald, not being driven on, and will be replaced before the project is finished :D

Air it up, and spray it all over with soapy water. If you can't find anything then I'd take it to a tire shop and put on a new valve stem (never hurts and they're like a $1). If it still leaks, have the tire place pull the tire off, take a wire wheel on a drill and clean the edges of the rim, then put the tire back on (after checking the bead). It is possible to have a hole in the rim, but not likely on a steel rim. If it's aluminum, it can leak thru the rim itself, but kinda rare.
