what are the best shocks for the money?
whats a good middle of the road shock, some where inbetween the 10 dollar monroe's and the high end rancho stuff? i've heard KYB's are a pretty decent shock for the money, any opinions?

Monroes are a cool shock. They offer a better quality line also.
Rancho shocks really suck. They tend to leak, seize and I have broke a few at the shaft. I run Skyjacker Nitro. They are higher in price, but I have had zero bad issues with them. I even have them on my wheeler and I abuse the crap out of them.

I agree, I ran $80ea. Rancho 5000's on my '97 and they had a terrible ride. I bought Monroe sensatracs this last time for about $40ea. and they ride better and had a much better build style.

I had put SkyJacker gas on my 99 SuperDuty and one of the fronts blew out within 2 weeks. Have since put Bilsteins on and they've been great for over a year. Don't think they make them for the bumps though.
I've used the KYB's in old Mustangs and have been happy.
Will go Monroe Gas Magnum for the bump when I get to that point.
