Pretty "gutsy" putting the link to that website here on your first post!

Sorry, I only recently saw the urinating contest between the forums. I tried looking for him, and this is where I was directed. I have a street-rodded 79 F100.

Here's a copy of one of my posts on "another" website...
I started working on cars with my dad in his shop when I was 10 years old, that was 34 years ago, I've been a mechanic ever since. Factory Ford trained, Chrysler trained, Jeep trained as well as several classes at the local tech college. One thing I've learned is that no one has done everything and no single person knows everything.
That being said, when I'm going to do a specific repair/modification or update something on a certain vechicle that I haven't done before, I will research the repair/subject until I'm satisfied that I have the correct information to complete the job to the best of my ability.
No one website has ALL of the info for ANY one subject or product. One needs to research many opinions, facts and techniques to decide which is the best for his/her particular task. I think it's sad that websites do not allow links to other websites when most truck website members belong to and browse several "other" truck websites. It is a form of censorship as well as an attempt to limit someone from accessing potentially useful information.
I have a '63 Integral Cab (Uni) that I've owned and driven for 25 years, but I also own a '72 F100 Sport Custom short bed. I can't get all of the info I might be searching for in one place. I'm also not going to accept one websites members info/techniques as gospel.
JMO, but I think that links to potentially useful information, no matter the source, should not be disallowed or censored.

I agree completely.....which is why the link remains, despite my having to grit my teeth to allow it. Although I detest the practices of The Dark Side (and don't try to hide it), it was mainly due to the overwhelming censoring there that led to the inception of FORDification.com in the first place, and while I'd love to give them a taste of their own medicine, this site was put together specifically to help truck owners get information. If we don't have an answer for them, I'd at least think we could point them to someplace that does.

re: Hawkrod: Tilt Conversions?
Wow.. just wow. To think all I wanted was a tilt for my truck. A certain someone high up on the FTE 73-79 section directed me here to look for him. I am also aware that with some work the 73-79 tilt will fit into the 67-72.
Sheesh. Didn't mean to ruffle anyones feathers. I didn't think one link to some info was a glowing neon sign endorsement of a forum. I apologize.
In any case. The *problem*
Tilt columns for 4 speed cars (or for floor shift auto swapped trucks
) are rare.
I picked up an auto on the column tilt.. Normally when I convert the columns to floor shift, I just grind and do some fiberglass work. Some searching yielded Mr. Hawkrods posts about swapping parts from columns to make a nice factory looking smooth tilt. Some asking around led me here.
As for me, I may well stick around if I'm welcome. it seems most everyone here is into the 2wd short box trucks like I am.
Only issue is.. I have a 79 F100 Ranger XLT. Swapped with a 73 nose. DJM kit front and rear, lots of other goodies, but I don't want to bore you all with them.
Recent pics (pre drop)
This is the only pic I have of the drop.. it's still in progress.

This is pre drop, but a better pic

Anyway.. Sorry

No harm,no foul. I think that most here will over look it . In your case I'll try to give you the condensed version. Had you attempted to post a link to fordification.com over there . Your post probably would have been locked and deleted as well as your account denying you access until the matter was looked into, and most probably with out any hint that you had committed and FTE(boy hadn't put that one in type for a while) felony. I joined over there about the time Keith got this bird off the ground , and need less to say I cashed in my round trip ticket for a one way flight, and have been here ever since.psquare75 wrote:Wow.. just wow. ps Nice truck. It bleeds Ford blue and although we are '67-'72 specific we are not limited to that I think you'll get a lot of info . I'm speaking just for me but am sure most will concur "Welcome" .

WOW!!! What a sweet ride!
What are the colors on the truck--in the pic it looks orange/red and beige.
It looks a little more beige that Ford's Wimbledon White.
BTW,
Welcome
Jeff
