making a different trailer
so far i have made four bump bed trailers. i have another. to cut up. and get rid of some how. the other day i saw a trailer that had axles in the middle of the frame. i dont think it was a truck frame but it might have been. so that gave me the idea to remove the bed of the truck and move the rear axle forward to the middle of the frame. that way i would have something similar to a car trailer of sorts. but i probably couldnt put that much weight on it. i'm not sure what i would ever do if i did this. what are you thoughts about this. what could be done with a narrow framed trailer made from a bump frame in one piece. this is just a wierd idea i came up with. i dont know what this idea would ever come to.

re: making a different trailer
well you got to figure out ware the main load is going to sit first.
say if its more at the front than moving the axle forward may help by distributing more weight to just the trailer, so the back of the truck sits a little flatter.
but remember you really do need some tong weight it important, with out it the trailer will not track well at all, you could say swerves all over the road behind your truck. also the angle of the trailer comes in to play say if it sits noise high or tong low.
if you are using the full frame of the truck, All that comes to mind is a hay wagon,
seriously with 20 feet a single axle trailer normally has a 1/2 weight rating as what the deck could hold.

I've seen plenty of trailers made from larger trucks (F-500+) that had a flatbed still on them. Made just like a truck box trailer, just larger and some had goosenecks instead of bumper pull hitches.
In life many men take the path of righteousness, some take the path many others follow (G.M. owners, for example), some take a more arduous path, some a simpler path. I, sir, took the PSYCO-PATH!!
