Body swap

Post by hooligan971 »

Ok here are my two Ideas My truck is a 2wd auto originaly a 302 but swapped out to 351w. I will hopfully find a 300 I6 too swap for the windsor(I am sold on these things, had two with over 400,000 mi and still going) I have a lwb 72 f-250 parts truck. Are the frames the same between the 150 and 250? (swap suspension and rear with little problem? )Or I was thinking of possibly swapping my body onto my 89 swb 4x4 I know this is no big deal with the earlier models but would it be more trouble to do the 71 to 89 ?
Thanks for any help,
Patrick

all i know is that if you want to go from 71 to 89, there will be lots of mods you would have to do. ford trucks changed alot in the 80's.

the f100 and f250 frames are different in the thickness of the frames. i'm pretty sure there are also differences in the brackets for the rear axle. as far as the 89 swap. if you kow how to weld and drill . i'm sure it could be done if you wanted to.

Not a good idea onto the 89 chassis. The trucks are completely different and you're downgrading quite a bit with the later frame.

The 100 and 250 frames are identicle, only difference being the frame thickness.
