Thinking about NDT Military tires for my flatbed.
I am fairly sure i won't have any clearance issues with the flatbed.
I do like the clearance between them as a dually set up.
Very curious about what other peoples opinions are about them.
Truck currently has 7.50X16 drives.
I was thinking about 7.50X16 NDT's or 9.00X16 NDT's. I can get them used. Either size for about $300 for a set of four.
I am looking for a off/on road tire, that has an aggressive tread, cleans out easy, and is thin enough for a dually set-up.
I'm not worried about ride comfort, (my truck is far from ride comfort.)
I know there are lots of P-Metric options in the 235/85/16. But i really don't like the squish of radial tires. (I'm pretty stubborn that way.) I am also worried about clearance between the "squishing" sidewalls when i am off-road wedging something in there and ruining the tires.
(Farm fields and feeder lots are not kind to tires!)
SO???? Whats the opinion on NDT's.
Thanks everyone.

It seems you get a lower weight rating with the bias ply than with an LT metric radial. I want to go with the 235/85 R16 all around on my truck. I just don't want to spend the money when I have 6 good tires on it already. I just wish they had a more aggresive tread.

re: NDT Military tires Pro's and Con's
Well i did some more looking and found a source that claims the NDT tires have a different style of bead and work VERY poorly on conventional tubeless rims. IE: they can slip off the bead.
SO.... back to the never ending search.
Thanks all.

Re: re: NDT Military tires Pro's and Con's
So, why can't you just put tubes in them? I've got an old home built trailer that uses 6.00x16's, and the tubeless tires that were on it were bad. When I bought new ones I looked at NDT's (as well as others in this size) and they were all tube type, so I had to install tubes with the new tires.two-bit wrote:Well i did some more looking and found a source that claims the NDT tires have a different style of bead and work VERY poorly on conventional tubeless rims.
