I will have to call them and ask. I talked to the main branch here in St. Louis and the lady just said "sorry, it won't fit, you'll have to use a car hauler", which won't work because the car hauler wieghs 2000 lbs and with the truck would wiegh 5500 lbs, and my cherokee is only rated for 5000 lbs max. Thanks for the info, though. I'll give them a call back.

So, no local u-hauls have anything wider than 72", and the truck is 76". Today I had a revelation and realized that I could just flat tow it with a tow bar, so that's the plan. I put a tranny cooler on my Cherokee and bought a tow bar to install when I get to the truck. I'm hoping a friend of mine will come through for me with a clamp on style tow bar that he said he may be able to get, but if not I'll have to use this bolt on one and possibly have to drill a couple holes in the frame to mount it (which I really don't want to do). Apparently no one in St. Louis rents the clamp on style tow bars anymore, as I couldn't find any today. What a pain!! Now I wish I had bought a 3/4 ton truck instead of my Cherokee...

Just in case any of you were wondering, the truck and I made it home just fine. I ended up just driving it back, with the tow vehicle in chase just in case. The only real problem was when I took ownership, went around the corner to the gas station, filled her up, and went to leave. The ignition switch fell into a million pieces! Luckily O'reill'ys was right around the corner and had the switch in stock for $10. The truck made the 377 mile trip home with no issues after the switch snafu. As an added bonus, the only rust is a spot about the size of a pack of gum on the drivers floor. It's SOLID.

A late :wel: sounds like it was a good deal and it made it home, that is always a good sign after a purchase like that

I had a similar experience when I picked up my truck. I went to the gas station and filled up the truck and the locking gas cap came apart. I had to drive down to the next town to get to a Napa to replace the cap. Gas sloshing out of the side of the truck what a joy after spending $3.50 a gallon. :x
