I actually drove in my ford focus for 3 hours to los bano cali to buy the crossmember and the guy told me that he would give me the other one for free since I drove for so long but I could only fit one in the hatch without jacking up my interior. He said I can go back to get the other one when ever I want.
See there is love for all bumps, my truck's a 68.
The crossmember was $25.00

I picked up a 03 crown vic front end. It consists a aluminum engine cradle with the suspension mounted on it. The mounting points are the same width as the centers of the frame rails. It looks very promising. This set up is only available on the 03 and up crown vic and grand marquis.

It will eliminate the i beams but will retain the stock crossmember and there will be no welding involved. The lower a arms will be built out of 2x2x1/4 square tube. I'm building a jig so that every kit I make will be the same.
The prototype will be a little rough looking but once I see that it is going to work and if I can make some money then everything will be plasma cut for better accuracy and a cleaner look.

also marz, will the stock crossmember not hit far before the stock frame? I guess it's not a big deal if you just want a decent (read:5/7) drop. Integrating bags may lead to an un-level position when layed out. Regardless, I can't wait to see what you come up with!
