Unhooking the Ebrake pedal?

Post by Darrman »

I am having trouble removing the ebrake pedal, I have it unbolted and have removed the push on clip from where the cable attaches to the back, but cant get it to come loose. Everything is still attached under the truck, so how can I take the pedal mechanism off?
Thanks for any help!

As I recall, that clip is the only thing holding the cable on so it should come out. Probably just rusted or gunked up. I'd clean it up a bit and start pushing and pulling. Here's a couple of photos.

I heard somewhere on this site to loosen the adjustment under the truck to give some slack in the cable to get it separated from the pedal!

Hey Darrman..

Yeah. I ran into the same problem...

If ya loosen the ebrake (undeneath, just behind the front of the bed)
You'll get all the slack you need.
I fought with it for about 45 minutes.
I'd just about have it then I'd lose it...I just loosened the adjusting nut a few turns, and it came right out...
