power steering cooler

When I first got my truck I thought the power steering cooler was really sweet. Now that my engine compartment is cleaned up though, it looks like crap.

Is it really necessary? Would it hurt to remove it?

which box do you have? if you have a bedix then i would just leave it and paint it. if you have the saginaw you could probably get rid of it.

I'll be putting one on my CJ, cause when I'm off-roading it, the fluid will boil right out of the pump.

If your going to use your power steering, I'd leave it on. But thats just me...

I would still use a cooler, though it doesn't necessarily have to be a factory cooler. You could always use the dentside-era cooler like I am, which is down out of the way:

You could simply use some longer lines to relocate yours to an area that's going to see some airflow but not be sticking up on top of the engine.
