re: Side mirrors?
Those look like door damage just waiting to happen. I know they're common, but if they get hit the tie-bar to the front of the door will keep them from moving... or let's say what will move will be the door. Around here in Seattle anyway, with our narrow streets, I see more mirrors knocked off than anyplace I've been. If you can't swing 'em in, expect them to be lying on the ground sooner or later. Something to keep in mind, anyway.

I don't care for them either, that is why they are gone, but a large truck or a campered truck. well good for thatWhoaaanelly wrote:Those look like door damage just waiting to happen. Thanks,
The mounts on the door look different from mine. I'll look closer when I'm home in daylight, which may not be 'til Sunday

re: Side mirrors?
i've only got two holes in each door and i plan on keeping it that way (lol), but for work applications the jr. west coasters would be the way to go. you can't see sh!t out of the sport type mirrors.

even though they look goofy on 2 wd trucks i have used the low mount 4x4/ bronco (80-96 or later) mirrors on both of my 72's. but will go west coast or jr. west coasts on the crew.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

The mirrors on the picture of the 2 sitting next to each other the green one has factory swing locks. What oldbiker posted is the factory camper special ones.

Which ones are you referring to?Whoaaanelly wrote:Those look like door damage just waiting to happen. I know they're common, but if they get hit the tie-bar to the front of the door will keep them from moving... or let's say what will move will be the door.
My passenger side door has a lot of damage to it due to the previous mirrors hitting something and bending the door frame. When I bought the truck I got an extra door so I'll put another door on before painting - but I don't want this to happen again!
I kind of like the mirrors on my truck now, in terms of visibility and not obstructing your view of the road. I just don't think their style matches the rest of the truck, and it would look goofy. Thoughts?
