Newbie from Kissimmee, Florida
Hello to all!
I recently acquired a 68 F100 LWB and was directed to this site by a gentleman in North Georgia that I purchased an engine from to put into my truck. I have found lots of useful info here and decided it was time to become part of the group and put my in every once in a while.
More about my truck:
1968 F-100 LWB now with a 72 360 and the original 3 speed tranny. I found this truck sitting under a tree in someone's back yard with the engine and tranny sitting in the bed. I kept looking at the truck and finally decided to find out more.
I had one roadblock to overcome--the wife! In her defense I had 3 Jeep Wagoneers sitting behind the house in various stages of self-destruction from rust and my goal was to take the best of the 3 and make 1 good truck. She told me that the only way something else was coming in was if something went out. My first idea for something to get rid of involved her, but I went along with it.
3 Jeeps gone and I went in search of this truck. I was interested in this truck because my father had a 68 F100 Ranger that he bought new and was the same color as this truck. I could remember always wishing he had kept that truck. Once it made it's way home, the wife's first words once she saw it were "YOU BOUGHT WHAT?!?!?!"
She has since warmed up to the old Ford and even decided to ride along on the 1000 mile 3 day round trip journey from Central Florida to North Georgia to pick up the engine to put into the truck.
The Ford is definitely a work in progress, but with the engine now in it I have adopted it as my current daily driver in an attempt to work the bugs out of it. I really enjoy driving around in a 40 year old truck (except when it stalls in an intersection and won't restart without a fight!)
Well, I didn't mean to write a novel here..just wanted to say Hello!

Welcome aboard.
My truck gets alternately reffered to as the "smurf truck" and "that eye sore" so don't feel like the lone ranger.
Where 'da pictures? We like pictures...
