drop beams: left or right?

Post by import600 »

I pulled the beams out of the box, tried to match them to the factory beams but I still can't tell which side is which. On each of them the kingpin hole leans to one direction or the other. Each one leans opposite. They have identical bends in the beams. So should i place the beams so the kingpin is leaning to the cab or to the front of the truck? If you guys are confused by my question i can try to get pictures. maybe I'm just not thinking. its probably an easy question haha. thanks

On the stock I-beams the kingpin retaining bolt\pin, The nuts point to the rear. Since they are tapered and can't go in backwards. Wouldn't this be a way to identify your left and right drop beams?

If the kingpins are held the same as factory.

Cut ( FOUR ) pieces of an old ford truck frame that has been junked, fit them to the inside of your good frame, add weld and bolts, the leafs are now inboard, time for the (big WIDE tires)!

Oh yeah (Tubbs)
