ok i just got my truck on the road again and was wondering something.... if there is a way how do i adjust a very lose sterring wheel (like it takes some turning before it actually catches) ?

on top of the box is a nut with a screw in the center loosen the outer nut and turn the inner screw about an 1/8 turn - 1/4 turn and tighten the outer nut and drive it if it is still loose tighten more if it gets to tight loosen it!!!! To tight of steering will kill the box quick!!! That should do the trick!!!!!

If it were me I'd run it to a front end shop and have them shake it down . You may have some loose tie rod end as well as a a litle slop in the gear box.

This is looking down into the engine compartment! The nut you will want to ajust is the one in the center of the pic!

That header is sooo close to that box. Will that heat the fluid too much?

that header isnt close to that box its touching that box!!!! I havent had a problem with it heating the fluid or anything yet and i have 19,000 on it so im not to worried about it!!!!

Hey Nick,
It's the coupler used to connect the steering shaft to the steering box, also called a steering coupler. You can get them at the parts stores...

yer steering box is probably toast, start looking for one.
