Does anyone know the stock rate and free length for a 5,600 lb GVW SWB F100 4×4?
I did a few rough calculations based on the weight of a similar Dana 44 front axle assembly and I come up with a guesstimate of around 480 lbs/inch with a free length of somewhere in the neighborhood of 18".
Guesses and kinda close is okay but real numbers would be a whole lot better.

re: Front Spring Question
Thanks CA180 but that's not quite what I'm looking for. Lemme see if I can 'splain it better.
There are a number of companies out there that sell replacement coils but the ones that I have seen still let the front end droop a little . . . like virtually every stock Ford coil sprung 4×4 since 1966. Being the picky guy that I am, I want my truck to set level.
Because I don't know the exact unsprung weight of the front end I can't do the spring calculations so the next best alternative is to find the rate and length of the stock springs. That way I have baseline numbers I can massage. Then I can give those numbers to the spring guy and tell him to "Make these".
Make sense?

I'm not too familiar with the F-100 4x4's, but I swear I've seen 2" front lift coils that are designed specifically to level a truck. I prefer the front to sit just a hair higher than the rear myself. That usually means level for me with the 500 lbs of tools in the bed dropping the rear a bit and smoothing the ride.
