What do i need to remove the coil springs?

Ive always heard it dangerous to do?????
Any advice?

I would use a length of chain and a bolt to prevent them from flying off.

I've removed the front coils on dozens of trucks, and have never had to use a chain, since the coil is bolted down solid to the I-beam....trust me, it ain't goin' nowhere.

You simply need to remove the upper coil spring retaining strap and shock absorber mount, then use a 1-1/8" (IIRC) wrench in-between the coils to remove the lower hold-down nut and washer. Then raise the truck with a hydraulic jack under the front crossmember so that the suspension will drop down, then just reach in and remove the spring. Piece of cake. :thup:
