Now MR GM Security wanna'be. What's that vehicle that you've been beating the mess out of as of late....ohhh yeah...that's right...a DODGE!!
Don't start, I'll bring up the van you had.
Hey, The VAN was free. AND I tried but couldn't get financed for a Ford. I believe you drive a TOYOTA just about every day, is that right?? and you plan to keep that and drive it even after you buy your wife her new car, thats what you said right? It's a sad sad day when a brother of mine turns to a foreign made vehicle

Wow imagine you whining and crying. Just like old times. The Toyota is the wife's car. But at 35mpg I'll take whatever abuse is necessary.

re: About time
Welcome from Arkansas, and Semper Fi! ('83-'87, El Toro, A-6's,)
My father ('56-'59, Camp Lejune) tried to tell me I should've reenlisted and gone to Cherry Point way back when, which is where I was probably gonna end up, but I got out instead! Of course, I could've retired 4 years ago, and maybe not be working 70-hour weeks on jets now, but I'm not bitter! Why didn't he beat some sense into me back then? Oh well. I still get to hear those engines and smell that smoke.........

Re: re: About time
Yeah I was debating about going back in. If I never would have gotten out I could have retired at 38. I was stationed at Cherry point my entire time in the fleet. What kind of jets do you work on? I worked on C-130 engine and props after they came off the wing.lrjetmech wrote:Welcome from Arkansas, and Semper Fi! ('83-'87, El Toro, A-6's,)

jets. I am the 2nd shift Avionics Lead in the Service Center. On the Production end of the plant, they get "green" aircraft from France ( )
and complete them to customer specs, basically from the ground up-the planes are just a shell, basically, no interior, basic avionics package only, no paint on the fuselage, and roll out looking pretty sweet! I work on the service end, doing inspections, upgrades, repairs, etc. Pretty slick place to work; majority of us in the Service Center are ex-military!

re: About time
This Sunday I got to drive my truck for the first time in over 3 years. It was at least 42 degrees this weekend and it was hard to be outside working on anything. It even Snowed on Saturday. But thanks to my brother and my Dad we finally got it moving under it's own power. Now I need exhaust pipes, a brake job and to get her legal. Then to see what other little problems pop up.

Re: re: About time
I never did understand why someone would want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane........................Until I started working on the engines, then it made sense One thing I learned about the engines, if they don't smoke there is something wrong with themratfink wrote:Welcome, and for what it's worth I used to jump out of C-130. Oh no, our jets hardly smoke at all-does this mean I should buy more life insurance for the wife and kids? I do enjoy the test flights, however, so, maybe, if your gonna go........FormerMarine1981 wrote: I never did understand why someone would want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane........................Until I started working on the engines, then it made sense One thing I learned about the engines, if they don't smoke there is something wrong with them

Re: re: About time
42? Snow doesn't stick at 42, it got below freezing for at least a little while. I'm going to order a ski mask online, maybe a couple. And don't forget to plug those vacuum leaks. But the biggest improvement you made was removing that aftermarket rodent add-on, otherwise known as a mouse.FormerMarine1981 wrote:This Sunday I got to drive my truck for the first time in over 3 years.
