I was looking at my new cowl emblems today and wondering how they are mounted. Does anybody know? My truck is not currently where I can get a close look. I don't remember seeing access to the back side of these in this cowl area. Are they just barrel nuts and then push in the emblems or is there twist on style nuts on the back side?

re: Cowl emblem mounting
There are little metal retainers that get pushed into the cowl holes, and then the emblem gets pushed into those retainers. There are no nuts on the backside. ( I wish I had a picture to show...it's hard to describe.) There is no way of getting any access to that portion of the cowl panel.

I think those are the same barrel clips that hold the F O R D letters on the hood.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Willow,
The FORD letters that I have seen have little nuts and some kind of rubber washer. Here's a photo of some I got a few weeks ago at a local wrecking yard.
