Was just thinking that sometimes just a little cleaning sanding and clear coating/waxing would take care of some of the older cars who's paint is 98% or better intact.
i did this on just the drivers side of the bird sorry it ain't a truck but i bet it would still work for some.
from about 10-20 ft away
within 5-10 feet.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

yeah i just thought that sometimes its just the clear or wax coming off. not so much needing a paint jobber.
I mean there are spots i'd have to repaint or atleast feather edge in the same color and then color sand and clear coat it but if it looks that good without the painting then whoo hoo.
I did the one side and the entire rear bumper with just 1/2-3/4 of a can of the wally world Spray on clear.
I'll see how it looks in a few days.
btw any idea what years ranchero's bumpers would work front and back for a chrome bumper look? I know i might need to fab some mounting brackets but it would look cooler.

No Rancheros after ’79 plus it’s a different platform, much wider. Try looking at ’78 – ’83 Fairmonts and Zephyrs which were on the Fox platform like your Tbird.

"Are you gonna make it all 220?"
"Yeah 220, 221, whatever it takes."
Thanks barry. I'll look i think chrome bumpers will set the bird ablaze in the looks department.

Yes the bumpers on some of them were not steel and i think the filler panels might just fit the t-bird. I may be wrong on that but you never know if the front of the fenders are the same shape you just might get lucky. If you can find the 2 door sportsman coupe fairmont i think this might be the closest fit to the t-bird.
thanks i'll look. Just with some cars chrome looks better than that fiberglass/rubber crud.

I belive the grenada bumpers work, and are mostly chrome. the bumpers got different markers though.
also I use Meguiars scratch X it the best stuff, and the quickest, and is clear coat safe. if it will not clean it up nothing will and it will not
add scratches and swirls like cut polishes will.
