Power Steering

Post by 19FORD67 »

I think the year of the motor Im pulling PS from is a '72 or '73 302 car engine. Unless I'm wrong I'm gonna have to get different PS brackets and a different harmonic balancer pulley? It's going on 352.

I hope im not missing anything:
linkage
booster
master cylinder
prop
perch (if saginaw)
pittman
hoses
mounting bracket

be nice if i could manage to do this without running to the parts store
4 or 5 times mid way.

Unless I'm way out in left field the 352 parts from a 302 want work. Maybe someone else can clarify a little more.

I know the 352 is a big block but Keith said in his tutorial get them from a similar motor I was hoping that the 2 being ford and v8's i might get a break, figuring i wont get one though. is there a way I can quickly identify
an FE at the bone yard? I mean, w/o having to look for a casting number
or something.

ok to switch you 67 to power steering you will need that stuff yes and possibly a steering column. the pulley yes it need to match the engine so you can bolt it on the same with the pump bracket you have to be able to bolt it on to your engine.

The front of a 352 will look more like a cheby 350 not like the 302. On the 352 you can see behind the water pump, on a 302 it is all sealed to the timming chain cover.

The FE is the only engine you'll find in a wrecking yard with the intake under the valve covers.
